Contraindication of Homoeopathy in COVID -19

COVID - 19 is an increasing problem now a days. This pandemic has now more than 18 millions cases and more than 6 lakhs death world wide. Failure in discovery of vaccine for this disease is one of the reason for increasing cases worldwide. As there is no medicine for this novel virus people are searching for alternative medicines in other science. One of the popular science is Homoeopathy.

As per government advisory no AYUSH doctor can claim for treatment of COVID-19. According to ministry of AYUSH Homoeopathic medicine Arsenicum Album is working as an immunity booster. Homoeopathy can treat COVID-19 as it does not based on diagnosis of disease. Now the question arrived that what are the contraindications of Homoeopathy in COVID-19.

1. COVID Cases needing ventilator :

There are only 5% cases of COVID-19 which need ventilator. In this cases the saturation of patient remain lower side. Patient is in need of life support like mechanical ventilator. In this cases Homoeopathy contraindicated as there might be some irreversible changes starts in the lungs.

2. COVID cases with irreversible changes :

Certain cases with covid infection may progress upto irreversible pathological changes of lungs. Fibrosis of lung is an irreversible change which decrease the elasticity of lungs. In these cases homoeopathy may not work as mentioned by Dr. Hahnemann.

3. COVID patient with other irreversible co-morbidity :

Patient having other co-morbidities along with COVID-19 are at higher risk of mortality. When this co-morbidity is having irreversible changes this contraindicate the homoeopathic medicine.

Above mentioned contraindications may subject to change. It solely depend upon the experience of Homoeopath who is dealing with the cases of COVID 19. Right now there is no permission to any AYUSH doctors to treat the cases of COVID 19. If patient wants to take homoeopathy willingly is the only way to give Homoeopathic treatment to the patient of COVID 19.
